HMIS Right to Know

HMIS Right to Know

The OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) 29 CFR 1910.1200 requires all chemicals in the workplace be labeled with the fundamental premise that employees have a “Right To Know” (RTK) about hazardous materials and how to protect themselves. OSHA defines a hazardous chemical as any liquid, solid or gas that could present a physical or health hazard to an employee.

The HMIS RTK color bar has the advantage of adding the chemical name to the top line as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) letter symbol.
